Arboretum Celebrates 20 Years

Northwest Missouri State University will celebrate its 20th anniversary as the Missouri Arboretum today
The Northwest campus is home to over 1,700 trees from over 130 species from around the world. The number has been growing since 1993 when the Missouri State Legislature designated Northwest Missouri State University as the Missouri Arboretum.
During the anniversary ceremony, 20 new trees will be planted on the Northwest Campus.
Northwest Missouri State's Sustainability Coordinator, John Viau, says there will be special guests participating in the celebration.

The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. today, April 21st outside the Forest Village Apartments on the north side of campus.
