Gallatin Fire

A major fire to the east portion of the Gallatin, Missouri square yesterday had firefighters from 13 agencies responding to fight the blaze. The fire is believed to have started in the Shelter Insurance building at approximately 12:20 in the afternoon.  The first one on the scene was Gallatin Police Officer Johnny McKee.

According to a release from Gallatin Fire Protection Chief Doug Hamilton, firefighters had the fire under control by 3 p.m. The Missouri Department of Transportation  closed Missouri Route 13 in the downtown area and kept the road from 13 to Grand Street closed overnight due to the chance of falling debris.
