An Omaha, Neb. woman is in serious condition and an Albany man is hurt after a single car accident in Atchison County, Mo. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Christopher Barnes was headed east on US Highway 136, eight miles east of Tarkio at 1:10 Saturday morning.
Barnes' vehicle crossed the center line and went off the north side of the highway and struck an embankment. The vehicle then rolled one time and came to rest on its top. The Patrol report says 18-year-old Madison Stinemetz of Omaha was riding as a passenger. She was taken by Atchison Holt Ambulance to Fairfax Community Hospital, and was then sent by lifeflight to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph with serious injuries. Both parties were wearing their seatbelts.
