The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is searching for organizations to help feed children during the summer months.
The Summer Food Service program works to reimburse organizations that provide meals to children who would otherwise go hungry without school lunches during the summer. Communications Director for the Department of Health and Senior Services, Ryan Hobart, says this program can be vital in some cases.
A number of organizations are eligible to participate in the program, including local governments, schools and private non profit agencies.
Hobart adds a training session will be required for interested organizations
Applications for the Summer Food Service Program are accepted March 1 through 15.
