The storm system that moved through northwest Missouri and southwest Iowa yesterday morning brought with it strong winds. National Weather Service meteorologist, Brian Cutter says conditions were right for a brief but severe storm.
Most of the structural damage was reported just west of Maryville. Hangers at the Northwest Missouri Regional Airport were destroyed due to the high winds. That's according to Airport Manager Kevin Rankin.
The Nodaway County Sheriff's department was also reporting a number minor accidents where vehicles slid off the roadways due to sudden slick driving conditions.
