Feb. 21, 2014ST. JOSEPH, Mo. | By: Marsh
The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce recently united two separate manufacturing groups to create a new group designed to address the needs of some of the city's major employers. The Manufacturers Council met for the first time on Feb. 13, 2014. St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce Director of Communications & Marketing, Kristi Bailey says the Manufacturing Council will be beneficial to the business community itself.
Bailey adds that if the St Joseph Chamber of Commerce is meeting regularly and talking with businesses, they will be able to stay on top of pressing issues and help them. At the first meeting, the Manufacturers Council discussed legislative issues, learned about training opportunities from Missouri Enterprise, and heard from City Manager Bruce Woody, who discussed wastewater issues and capital improvements. The group will meet quarterly, with the next scheduled meeting to be held May 8 at the Chamber.
