A new software program will allow you to inspect your genealogy at Livingston County Library. Ancestry.com, the popular family tree website, recently released a Library Edition of their software that allows library patrons to search for their family history without purchasing a subscription.

Livingston County Library Director Robin Westphal says the library and its patrons have become increasingly interested in genealogical studies in recent years.

While the library is confident in the new technology, Westphal says it's not the first time they have tried to access genealogical records online.

www.ancestry.com uses over 4,000 databases, with new information added to these databases as quickly as that information becomes available.

The Library Edition is now available to all Livingston County Library patrons, but is only available at the library. For more information, patrons can contact the library at 660-646-0547.
