Sam Houston State Names New Head Coach

Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas has named Delaware head football coach KC Keeler as their new head coach.  Keeler takes over for former Central Missouri head coach Willie Fritz, who left Sam Houston to take over the Georgia Southern program.

Northwest Missouri Athletic Director Mel Tjeersma was one of the five finalists for the coaching position and interviewed Tuesday for the position.

Keeler becomes Sam Houston's 15th head football coach and leaves a Delaware Fightin Blue Hens program where he compiled an 86 and 52 record and an FCS national championship in 2003.  His teams also played in the championship game in 2007 and 2010 and made the FCS play-offs four times.
