Art Show


A local high school student will have her artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in the U.S. Capitol.
Nina Bui of Staley High School took first place in the fourth annual art competition at the Northwest Missouri State University, St. Joseph Center.
Bailey Becvar also of Staley High School took second, and Reid Walker of Platte County High School took third.
The competition is sponsored by Sixth District Congressman Sam Graves.
Northwest Art Professor Phil Laber judged the 53 entries in this year's show.
As the first place winner, Bui receives a trip to Washington, D.C. to view her artwork along with other winners from across the U.S.
She also received a five hundred dollar scholarship to attend Northwest.
