WINTER COMMENCEMENT

NORTHWEST HAS ANNOUNCED THE FOUNDER OF A NATIONAL EDUCATION INSTITUTE WILL SPEAK TO THIS WINTER'S GRADUATING CLASS.

DR. JOHN GARDNER FOUNDED THE INSTITUTE OF EXCELLENCE IN UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION IN 2007 THE INSTITUTE IS A NATIONAL LEADER IN IMPROVING UNDERGRADUATE LEARNING AND RETENTION ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. GARDNER HELPED ORGANIZE A STUDY AT NORTHWEST IN 2010 WHICH LED TO THE CREATION OF THE FRESHMAN SEMINAR PLAN. NORTHWEST PRESIDENT DR. JOHN JASINSKI SAYS GARDNER HAS BEEN A KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE UNITED STATES.

APPROXIMATELY FOUR-HUNDRED-50 UNDERGRADUATE AND MASTER STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO RECEIVE DEGREES. WINTER COMMENCEMENT BEGINS AT ONE P.M. ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 13 IN BEARCAT ARENA.
