Student Senate Food Drive

Several northwest Missouri state organizations will go door-to-door asking for canned food donations in Maryville on Thursday.

Over ten campus organizations will participate in the “Turkey Trot” event beginning at five-thirty Thursday evening at Colden pond. The drive will focus on the north side of Main Street, but others can request to have their donation picked up. The organization that collects the most canned goods will receive a 100 dollar prize. The first annual turkey trot is sponsored by the American marketing association and student senate. Student senate civic service chair Katie Mahoney says the event will allow less fortunate people access to quality food around the holidays.
