St. Joseph Open Burning

The city of Saint Joseph prepares for open-burning season.

Saint Joseph residents are allowed to burn yard waste on their property starting Monday until November 24th. Residents are only allowed to burn between 10 in the morning and 3:30 in the afternoon and must use a metal barrel no larger than 55 gallons. Health Department Information Officer Stephanie Malita encourages residents to consider other ways of eliminating yard waste before lighting up.
