NW Regents approve Police Facility

The Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents have approved the construction of a new facility to house the school's Police and Purchasing Departments.

The two departments are currently located in a building on the northeast side of campus orginally constructed following the Administration Building fire in July, 1979. The building's orginal use was to provide temporary space for classrooms and KXCV/KRNW Radio. Northwest Vice-President of Finance Stacy Carrick says plans for the One-point-Six million dollar project have been in the works for over two years.

Northwest Chief of University Police, Clarence Green says the new facility will be a needed upgrade for his department.

The new Police and Purchasing facility is to be located near the campus distribution center on the west side of campus and should be completed in time for the beginning of the 2014-15 academic year.
