Northwest Missouri State Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams Compete

The Northwest Missouri State men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Central Regional Championships Saturday at Yankton Trail Park.

Drew Keefer was the top finisher on the men’s side running the 10k in 33:23.12 placing him 48th out of over 150 runners. Teammate Kit Anderson finished closely behind Keefer finishing 52nd with a time of 33:33.14. Northwest, as a team, finished 14th among the 23 schools that competed in the regional championships with a total time of 2:49:00.51. Anne Herbert was the top finisher for the women’s team as she placed 12th in a field of 203 runners. Herbert earns All-Region honors as she ran the 6k event in 21:46.84 which is good enough for fourth on the all-time Northwest record list for a 6k. Kattie Carrol was the next finisher for the Bearcats as she finished 61st with a time of 22:55.24. Of the seven runners for Northwest, five of them set personal records in the event Saturday. Northwest finished 14th out of the 40 schools that ran in the event with a total time of 1:55:47.55.
