Thomson/Deaton Receive Awards

A northwest Missouri State Representative and MU's Chancellor have received highly regarded awards.

First District State Representative Mike Thomson of Maryville and Brady J. Deaton are the recipients of the 2013 Geyer Public Service Awards. Thomson says receiving this award is a great honor.

Thomson is receiving the award in recognition of his continued efforts on supporting higher education public policy. He says higher education provides the state with many valuable developments.

Thomson says an award presentation will take place on January 13th in Jefferson City. Chancellor Deaton receives his award the same night.
