Smoke Testing of Storm System in Maryville

The City of Maryville will be conducting a series of tests to the city's storm water and sewer collection system in the next few months.

The city has hired an outside company to assist in testing procedure which according to Public Works Director CE Goodall involves inserting smoke into the system.

Goodall says the smoke residents may see coming from the vent stacks on houses or holes in the ground is non-toxic, Harmless, has no oder and creates no fire hazard. He says residents will be notified prior to the smoke testing in their neighborhood with information regarding the procedure.
