A northwest Missouri woman is in the hospital this morning after striking a horse overnight in Gentry County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol 32 year old Valarie Lee of Grant City was heading northbound on U-S 169 about 3 miles south of Gentry around 2-30am when she encountered the horse in the roadway. After colliding with the horse, Lee's vehicle went off the east side of the roadway and over an embankment, landing on its wheels. Lee was taken to the Northwest Medical Center in Albany with moderate injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt.
