Airlift Wing Commander

A St. Joseph native takes command of the 139th Airlift Wing.

Colonel Ralph L. Schwader assumes command of the St. Joseph based Airlift Wing in January. Schwader, an experienced C-130 pilot, has flown 6 thousand two hundred seventy-seven flight hours. He has extensive experience including supporting combat operations such as Desert Storm and Desert Shield, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Schwader is also a 1986 graduate of Missouri Western State University. A change of command ceremony for Swhwader and outgoing commander, Colonel Michael Pankae takes place in January.
