School Daily Routines

As the new school year quickly approaches, the University of Missouri Extension Office is urging families to prepare a morning and evening routine.

Getting a child off to school can cause chaos, and a daily routine can eliminate those hectic mornings for parents. University of Missouri Extension Human Development Specialist, Lisa Wallace, says preparing a plan will allow one the proper amount of time to get ready.

She says an evening routine can be just as important, and this is more than just your average bedtime routine.

Wallace adds other organizational skills will come in handy during the school year as well. Have a separate drawer or basket for each child's school papers, have a specific place for each child to keep their backpack, and even keep a big family calendar for appointments and sporting events. She says these simple tips, when practiced, are sure to reduce stress for both parents and their kids.
