Maryville City Council Approves Water/Sewer Rate Hike

The Maryville City Council approved a substantial rate increase for water and sewer usage during last night's meeting.

Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says the vote followed a discussion at their last council meeting where city staff outlined rates increases to pay for the revenue bond debt that will be incurred during the construction of the new waste-water treatment facility. McDanel says the project was approved by voters during the April 2012 election.
