House Bill 322

A recent bill changes the way drivers may show proof of insurance.

According to House Bill 322, drivers no longer have to keep their insurance identification card in their glove box. Director of Missouri Highway Patrol's Public Information and Education Division Captain Tim Hull says this small law change allows the insurance identification card containing proof of insurance information for a motor vehicle to be produced in a paper or an electronic format.

Hull says the bill also allows motor vehicle insurance policies and endorsements to be mailed, issued, delivered, or posted on an insurer's web site if it doesn't contain personally identifiable information.
