Former Bearcats

Two former Bearcat football players have found new homes.

Wide receiver Tyler Shaw was signed on Monday by the Pittsburgh Steelers after Plaxico Burress went down with a season ending injury. In his senior season, Shaw was second team All-MIAA after posting a career best 12 touchdowns. He was released last week by the Arizona Cardinals after being buried on the team’s depth chart. Shaw wasn’t the only bearcat to receive good news. Defensive lineman Travis Chappelear signed with the Dallas Cowboys after working out with the team previously. Chappelear earned first team All-MIAA honors while at Northwest. He was released by the Cincinnati Bengals in May and New England patriots on August 2nd after just a day with the team.
