Downtown Revitalization Awards

Chillicothe won three awards and multiple nominations at this year's Missouri Main Street Revitalization Conference in Kansas City.

During the Evening of Excellence awards ceremony on July 25th, Main Street Chillicothe accepted awards for Best Economic Restructuring Project for "Black and Red Friday", Heritage Travel Award for Mural Tours, and Best Facade Renovation under $10k was awarded to The Healthy Living Store. Executive Director of Main Street Chillicothe, Crystal Narr says just being a part of the conference lets Main Street Chillicothe know they are doing a wonderful job.

The Missouri Main Street Revitalization Conference is a three day conference consisting of more than 40 educational workshops and in-the-field educational sessions. Chillicothe has six conference attendees, and two sessions were presented by local individuals including Crystal Narr. Narr was recognized for her six years of dedication to the local program and the Main Street Chillicothe program was recognized as a state and nationally accredited Main Street program. Main Street Chillicothe was also nominated in other categories: Brandy Sensenich for the Volunteer of the Year; and the Collaborative Flower Pot Program for Outstanding Community Partnership. Awards were presented in 18 categories and competition for the awards came from all across the state of Missouri.
