Active Emergency Zone Law

The Missouri House recently enacted a new traffic law set to take effect this week.

The law defines an Active Emergency Zone. An "Active Emergency Zone" is an area visibly marked by emergency responders on or around the highway where an active emergency or incident removal is happening. The Missouri Highway Patrol is wanting everyone to be aware of the new law. Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Tim Hull says this law increases penalties for moving violations or traffic offenses occurring in an active emergency zone.
