A Matter of Balance

Many older adults and those battling a variety of health issues often have a fear of falling.

"A Matter of Balance" is an 8 session program conducted by the University of Missouri Extension aimed to help ease the anxiety of a potential fall. University of Missouri Housing and Environmental Design Specialist Connie Neal says the program developed by the Frank L. Mitchell Trauma Center at Boston University, utilizes low impact exercises to strengthen participants. According to Neal, the fear of falling can have adverse effects one's lifestyle.
