Sliced Bread Exhibit

The Grand River Historical Society and Museum in Chillicothe will be reopening this Sunday.

This Sunday marks the 85th anniversary of sliced bread, and the museum will be featuring an exhibit entitled "Better than Sliced Bread" to mark the event. Curator of The Grand River Historical Society and Museum, Pam Klingerman, says this event is especially important to the Chillicothe community.

This exhibit will feature the original Otto Rohwedder sliced bread machine, on loan from the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. There will also be presentations about its significance to Chillicothe.

Also on hand will be members of the Rohwedder family, who Klingerman hopes to get involved.

The Museum opens at 1 pm on Sunday, with extended hours until 6 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
