Parsons Death Ruled Suicide

Nodaway County law enforcement officials are ruling the death of a 48 year old Stanberry man who died from a seizure after being found guilty of statutory sodomy in Nodaway County Circuit Court...

a suicide. Nodaway County Sheriff Darren White says a search of Steven Parsons computers and car confirmed Parsons placed an order for cyanide on June 25th to be shipped overnight to his business. White says a medical examiner also released his preliminary results from the autopsy confirming Parsons suffered from cyanide poisoning. It's believed Parsons swallowed a cyanide pill after receiving the guilty verdict. Parsons was convicted of having sex with a 17 year old girl. He was the owner of Parsons Tire and Battery in Maryville. The jury trial was held in Nodaway County on a change of venue from Gentry County.
