Missourians are Funny people

The St Joseph Museum will host a program from the Missouri Humanities Council.

On Thursday July 18th, guest speaker Dr. Frank Nickell will give a presentation about the character and nature of Missourians. In the presentation titled "It Is Very Plain: Missourians are Funny People", Nickell dissects how the difficult lifestyle of Missourians has allowed them to develop a hard work ethic and unique sense of humor. Public Relations Officer for St Joseph, Kathy Reno, says Nickell got his inspiration from famous Missourians like Mark Twain and President Harry S Truman, as well as other rich sources.
