Missouri 340 Canoe Race

A Canoe race on the Missouri River from Kansas City to St. Charles is underway and features two teams from northwest Missouri.

The M-R 340 covers the 340 miles of the Missouri River between the starting point in Kansas City to the ending point in St. Charles. Participants are allowed 88 hours to complete the course with nine checkpoints along the route where the paddlers are required to sign in and sight out. Competitors from the region include the men's tandem of David Smith and Brent Cline of Albany and a women's tandem team consisting of Candy Workman Stagner of Maryville and Kim Hogue Costen of Albany.
