Illegal Hand Fishing

Missouri Department of Conservation agents in the northwest region recently cited 16 people for illegally taking catfish by hand fishing.

Media Specialist for the Missouri Department of Conservation, Bill Graham says hand fishing hurts the environment.

Graham says hand fishing citations come with consequences that may result in losing hunting and fishing privileges.

The Missouri Department of Conservation urges individuals wishing to fish to do so legally, and if you notice anyone participating in hand fishing, contact your local conservation agent.
