Hopkins Picnic

The Annual Hopkins Picnic is an important event in northwest Missouri every year, but this year, it means even more.

This weekend marks the 125th celebration of the Hopkins Picnic, giving the picnic its theme "125 Years of Memories". Entertainment begins Thursday at 5pm with shows like the Pet Show, Little Mister and Miss Hopkins, and more. Entertainment continues Friday beginning with the Gramps and Granny Show at 5:30pm. According to spokesperson Donna Spalding, Saturday is the "big day" beginning with the Mustang Memorial ride at 8am.

Spalding says they are trying hard to keep the "hop" in Hopkins. Events will continue through Saturday evening, ending with a concert by the local Phil Forney Band at 8pm on the main stage. Again, the 125thl Hopkins Picnic is this weekend, July 11th through the 13th.
