Missouri Governor Jay Nixon was in Savannah yesterday afternoon for the announcement of United Electric Cooperative's United Fiber project.
The program will provide high speed-internet to nearly 5 thousand 500 households, businesses and local schools in rural northwest Missouri. The project is part of a public/private partnership called Mo-Broadband-Now. Governor Nixon announced his broadband initiative in 2009 and says the project is ahead of schedule.
