Chillicothe BOE Meeting

The Chillicothe R-II Board of Education is setting new district goals for the 2013-2014 school year.

The Chillicothe Board of Education met earlier this week to discuss two main items including the new goals as well as the bread bid awarded to HyVee. Chillicothe Superintendent Dr. Roger Barnes says the board goals will address areas in curriculum and instruction, safety and security, and finances and facilities.

Dr. Barnes says the Bring-Your-Own-Device initiative will scale back technology the district is required to purchase and will allow instruction that deals with updated technology. As for the new state-approved teaching model, Barnes says Chillicothe District is a full year ahead of 2014-2015 state mandate.
