Second Career Searches

After retirement, many seniors discover they want to do something with their free time. Plus, they find they need extra money for living expenses, so they start second careers. For those who are at that point and not quite sure where to start AARP has a website to help. Iowa AARP Spokesperson, Ann Black, says it is "Life Reimagined.org."

Black says many people at midlife and beyond are looking for that dream job they always wanted. She says one god way to see if that career choice is really a "dream" is to volunteer first in that field.

She says as older people enjoy years of good health, many are eager to find work that gives them more personal satisfaction, and a chance to make a difference in their communities.
