Gov Nixon Appoints Stallings

A Bethany private practice attorney has been appointed as the new Prosecuting Attorney for Grundy County.

Cristine Stallings was appointed to the position by Gov. Jay Nixon after the recent resignation by former Prosecuting Attorney, Carol Wetherell. Stallings, a Democrat, has been in private practice in Bethany since 1992 and has been the Bethany city attorney and prosecutor since 2003. Gov. Nixon says Stallings has several years of experience as a prosecutor, which makes him confident she will effectively serve the citizens of Grundy County.
