Two people were arrested for DWI during a four hour checkpoint over the weekend.
Missouri Highway Patrol officials report the sobriety checkpoint began late Friday night on U.S Highway 59 at Atchison Street in St. Joseph. A total of 277 vehicles were checked. Commanding officer of Troop H, Captain Duane Robinson says in addition to the two DWI's, 28 warnings were issued. Officers also made 3 misdemeanor warrant arrests, one seat belt arrest and one non-moving arrest. 3 were arrested for no driver's license, 5 for driving while suspended and one for no insurance. The Patrol was assisted in the checkpoint by the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department.
