Structure Fire in Maryville

Local fire departments worked together to extinguish a structure fire last night.

Maryville and Polk Township Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 22450 State HWY E-E at 7:28pm. Captain of the Maryville Department of Public Safety, Fire Division, Phil Rickabaugh says they arrived at the scene to find a hay shed fully engulfed in flames.

The shed was full of approximately 130 large bales of hay. Rickabaugh says the fire was caused by exhaust from machinery similar to a Bobcat coming into contact with the bales of hay.
