About 3,000 customers remained without electricity in the St. Joseph area following a severe thunderstorm that swept through last night.

Hughley said 400 KCP&L employees and 250 contractors were mobilized after the storm knocked out power throughout the region.

The company expects to have power restored for most customers by the end of the day Monday.
