St. Joseph, MO (2013-05-20)
Power crews are busy this morning as they continue to work to restore power to several areas.
Kansas City Power & Light spokeswoman Courtney Hughley says many customers in the Kansas City and St. Joseph area were effected by yesterdays storms.
About 3,000 customers remained without electricity in the St. Joseph area following a severe thunderstorm that swept through last night.
Hughley said 400 KCP&L employees and 250 contractors were mobilized after the storm knocked out power throughout the region.
The company expects to have power restored for most customers by the end of the day Monday.
