Maryville, MO (2013-05-17)
Plans for the new Maryville Wastewater Treatment facility are coming along.
Maryville voters overwhelmingly approved a bond issue in April of 2012 for the construction of the new facility. Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says new regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Natural Resources made building a new Wastewater Treatment facility necessary.
McDanel says the ten million dollar facility will be one of the largest infrastructure projects in Maryville in many years. He says Maryville must meet a deadline from EPA for the completion of the project.
Over 86 percent of Maryville voters approved the funding for the project in April 2012.
