Comprehensive Alcohol Study for Maryville

Among the issues discussed last night by the Maryville City Council was a comprehensive study on alcohol issues in the community.

Public Safety Director Keith Wood presented the nine point plan to the Council. Maryville Mayor Jim Fall says the plan includes several important items to be reviewed in further detail.

Following Wood's presentation, the Maryville City Council in a 3-2 vote decided to keep the legal age a person can enter a bar in Maryville at 19. They can be in the drinking establishment but not consume alcohol until they turn 21. The Council also last night approved Sunday sales of alcohol.
