Fifty-four year old Matthew Baker was cited with 10 counts in relation to the animal seizure, including two counts of animal cruelty and several other charges in relation to licensure and permits for the animals. In addition, Baker was taken into custody on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct. He remains in Atchison County, Kansas Jail awaiting bond and formal charges. Laurie says they were also assisted by Florida-based Big Cat Rescue in the seizure and transporting of the tiger. The tiger, as well of the rest of the animals, didn't have to be put down and are going to be taken to Humane Society sanctuaries across the country. Laurie says the Humane Society of the United States filmed the seizure and rescue and is expected to release video of the efforts in the near future.
