2013 Nodaway County Memorial Day Observance Ceremony

With yesterday being Memorial Day, a ceremony was held early yesterday morning in Nodaway County.

The 2013 Nodaway County Memorial Day Observance Ceremony was held at the American Legion Post 100 in Maryville. The special guest speaker of the ceremony was Trudy Kinman, the speech and debate teacher at Maryville High School. Kinman has great respect for all of those who have served in the military. In her speech, she said her biggest influence is an old garden hoe, which was given to her by her Uncle Joe.

Kinman says her garden hoe is what reminds her of what Memorial Day means.

Kinman finished her speech by asking those present to help make others aware of the significance of Memorial Day.

The Memorial Day Ceremony was held at the American Legion Post 100, and members of the Post give thanks to all who helped with this event.
