Trowbridge at Northwest

Dr. William Trowbridge served as a distinguished English professor at Northwest Missouri State University for 27 years.

His retirement in 1998, however, did not distance him from his passion for poetry. Governor Jay Nixon appointed Trowbridge in 2012 to a two-year term as Missouri's third poet laureate. Trowbridge travels across the state, making appearances at universities and writing groups for workshops and readings. As the final event of Northwest's 2013 Encore Performance Series, Dr. Trowbridge will perform with former student Bob Walkenhorst. Trowbridge says the performance will showcase his newest book through both music and readings.
