There is no replacement for good nutrition.
Nutritional supplements are meant to add to our diets, not replace what we are currently consuming. Extension Regional Nutrition and Health Education Specialist Janet Hackert of Bethany says supplements can be helpful for children who don't eat enough to obtain enough of a nutrient or for older adults who lose the ability to absorbed some nutrients as well as someone who is sick. According to Bailey, there are several ways you can find out if you need to take a supplement.
