Nodaway County Election Results

For the fifth time...voters in the Jefferson C-123 school district in Nodaway County voted down a bond proposal that would have funded building renovations and the construction of a new gymnasium.

The issue needed 57.14 percent of the vote to pass and received 56.86 percent...2 votes shy of passing. Superintendent of Schools...Rob Dowis says he's disappointed with the outcome.

Jefferson Superintendent of Schools Rob Dowis. In the Maryville School District, four persons were running for the two positions up for election. Incumbent Shane Simms won another term receiving just over 28 percent of the vote. Rob Sparks will join Simms as Sparks picked up just over 26 percent of the vote. In the West Nodaway School District, Jason Hull and Lisa Linville were elected out of six seeking the two seats up for election on the Board of Education. In the South Nodaway School District, Deborah Bennett and Shawn Beck were elected to the Board. The North Nodaway Board of Education race was won by Kane Oberhauser and Jerime Bix. In the Maryville City Council election incumbent Mayor Glenn Jonagan and councilwomen Renee Riedel were running unopposed.
