No More Trash Contest

A seventh grade art class from Livingston County won a grand prize from The Missouri Departments of Conservation and Transportation for helping to make Missouri litter-free.

Marj Locker's seventh grade class at Southwest Livingston R-1 won the "Yes You CAN Make Missouri Litter Free" 2013 trash-can decorating contest. Locker says her class came up with the winning entry, titled "Give Trash the Boot-Recycle" by themselves.

Locker says they already have plans for their grand prize money.

There is also word of a pizza party for the seventh grade class. The contest is part of the "No MOre Trash!" campaign that raises awareness about litter and discourages littering. Locker's class is among 18 Missouri elementary and middle schools, and nearly 200 students, who participated in the annual contest.
