Maryville School Board Meeting

The Maryville Board of Education met in regular session last night.

The Main item on the agenda was a proposal for the use of solar panels as a way to save money on energy costs. The panels would be constructed by Brightergy, a clean energy company headquartered out of Kansas City. Superintendent Larry Linthacum says no major steps will be decided until they look further into what Brightergy has to offer.

Linthacum also says Brightergy has a curriculum that would benefit in the classroom as well.... so kids can know the importance of saving energy.

Again Linthacum says the Maryville Board of Education only approved a site survey and will weigh the options of consideration from there.
