Maryville Junior Golf

Maryville community members are proposing a new junior golf course for Mozingo Lake park.

Last August, an ad hoc group formed to consider the feasibility of small 9-hole course for young golfers. Since then, the group has met with various golf course experts including the Tom Watson Design firm. While the proposed course would be available to the public and school golf teams, it would primarily host events associated with the "First Tee" youth development program. Members of the ad hoc group presented their idea to the Maryville City Council last night. Group member Bruce Twaddle says he was pleased with the council's response.

Twaddle says the group will now embark on private fundraising to gather the 250 thousand dollars needed to build the junior course.
