Maryville Bar Entry Forum

For an issue that has gotten a lot of publicity in Maryville, few people chose to share their voice at a recent public forum.

Just under 20 residents gathered at the Maryville Community Center last night to state opinions and ask questions of city officials about the bar entry age which is set up for a vote in the coming months. Northwest student Chloe Jones attended the forum and says she doesn't think the current minimum age of 19 should change.

Maryville Resident Wayne Pierson sees it differently, saying allowing someone under 21 to enter a bar increases the risk for a bad situation.

With the low turnout of Maryville residents Mayor Jim Fall says the Council could vote on a resolution sooner than expected.
