Missouri Governor Jay Nixon is to visit Stewartsville High School in DeKalb County this morning.
The Governor is to announce what he is calling a significant expansion of the state's A-plus program. Under the A-plus program, Missouri students can earn a scholarship to cover the cost of tuition and academic fees for two years at any public two-year community college or technical school in Missouri. To be eligible for the program, students must meet academic achievement, conduct and attendance requirements and perform 50 hours of tutoring or mentoring service. Governor Nixon is expected to make his announcement at Stewartsville High School at 10:30 this morning.
